Captain among seven soldiers were martyred in an improvised explosive device exploded on a vehicle of Security Forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district Lakki Marwat District, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
Those, who made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom, include Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, Lance Naik Hussain Ali, Sepoy Asad Ullah, Sepoy Manzoor Hussain, and Sepoy Rashid Mehmood.
According to ISPR, sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists present in the area and perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice.
Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
Terrorist activity in Pakistan has increased significantly since the banned militant organization Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke off its truce with the government in November 2022, particularly in KP and Balochistan.
The ISPR said earlier in May that in three different operations in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the security forces shot and killed 23 terrorists.
