Special Judge (Central) Shah Rukh Arjumand has issued bailable arrest warrants for Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, in the Toshakhana-II case, as reported by national media on Thursday.
According to a report by ARY News, the hearing was held in Adiala Jail, but the former first lady Bushra Bibi did not appear before the court. The court dismissed her plea for exemption from personal appearance and issued the warrants.
On November 14, the court rejected acquittal pleas filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana-II case. Additionally, the FIA challenged Bushra Bibi’s bail in the Supreme Court, claiming it violated guidelines and asserting her involvement in the case alongside Imran Khan.
Earlier, on July 13, the couple was arrested in a separate National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference linked to Toshakhana after being acquitted in the Iddat case. They were previously sentenced to seven years in prison and fined Rs500,000 each in February for fraudulent nikah, but an appeals court overturned the conviction.
