KARACHI: Another four-storey building in Karachi’s Federal-B Area is on the verge of collapse, due to the alleged corruption of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).
According to details, fear spread among the residents, and people residing in the building have been asked to vacate it. Cracks have appeared on the walls and the building has started tilting to one side.
Relevant sources have claimed that the building was constructed illegally under the patronage of corrupt officers of the building authority. The SBCA officers had received a huge amount of bribe in this regard.
The building residents have claimed that they have informed the concerned police station, however, no action has been taken so far. The building inhabitants have refused to vacate their houses.
The residents have appealed to Sindh Chief Minister, Governor, and DG Sindh Building Control Authority to take immediate notice in this regard.
Earlier on June 7, at least 22 people died when a residential five-storied building collapsed in Lyari. The bodies were shifted to Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
All debris has been cleared from the location. Sindh Ranger said, “All the items found in the rubble of the building were handed over to the civil administration on the spot.”
