A disturbing video showing a woman physically assaulting a male staff member at Bonanza Satrangi’s outlet in Islamabad’s Centaurus Mall has gone viral, sparking public outrage and renewed debate over customer behavior and employee safety in retail settings.
The footage, which emerged on social media Thursday, captures chaotic scenes inside the store—clothes scattered on the floor, display racks overturned—while a woman is seen slapping, kicking, and shouting at a visibly shaken employee. Despite the aggression, the staff member remains calm and does not retaliate. Several bystanders appear in the background, yet no one intervenes.
Bonanza Satrangi responded to the incident in a statement issued Friday, commending its employees for their “professionalism” and poise under pressure. While the brand did not disclose the circumstances leading up to the altercation, it condemned the customer’s actions.
“We commend our entire outlet team for handling the situation with remarkable composure and professionalism,” the company stated on its official Facebook page. “They prioritized de-escalation and resolution while upholding our values of dignity, service, and mutual respect.”
The brand emphasized that such behavior must be “firmly discouraged” and called for more kindness and respect in customer interactions. It also reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for both staff and shoppers across all its outlets.
As of the time of publishing, no FIR has been registered, and the incident has not been formally reported to the Margalla Police Station in Islamabad.
The video has triggered widespread discussion online about power dynamics in customer-service interactions, with many users expressing concern over the lack of consequences for the assailant and the passive role of bystanders during the incident.
