Director Paul Feig returns with “Another Simple Favor,” a sequel to his 2018 dark comedy-thriller “A Simple Favor.”
Reuniting stars Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, the film revisits the twisted, stylish world of suburban deceit and manipulation six years after the original captivated audiences with its blend of mystery, satire, and bisexual intrigue.
Released on May 1, “Another Simple Favor” features a star-studded cast including Kendrick, Lively, Henry Golding, Allison Janney, Michele Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins.
The sequel picks up in the aftermath of the original’s dramatic climax, where Stephanie Smothers (played by Kendrick) survived a live-streamed murder attempt by her enigmatic friend Emily Nelson (Lively), who is now incarcerated.

Now a successful true-crime blogger and author, Stephanie has transformed her ordeal into content, collaborating with the FBI to assist in local investigations—most notably involving a scandalous gym teacher known as the “Speedo Pedo.” The film opens with a book signing for Stephanie’s latest publication, The Faceless Blonde, a tell-all memoir detailing her entanglement with Emily. As the story unfolds, viewers are introduced to new characters from Emily’s shadowy past, including her estranged mother Margaret and cunning aunt Linda.
Another Simple Favor made its debut at the SXSW Film Festival and is now streaming on Prime Video.

Is it worth watching?
Another Simple Favor had big shoes to fill. Although the movie has its moments but with so many absurd twists, the movie is kind of turn off. While fans of the first movie would like to watch the sequel, it may not be worth the time for causal viewers.
