The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a Baloch separatist group, has claimed responsibility for an attack on paramilitary troop convoy in Kalat by a woman suicide bomber that resulted in the killing of one soldier and injuring four.
On Monday afternoon, a female suicide bomber attacked a convoy of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) on the N-25 Quetta-Karachi highway.
The explosion killed one FC soldier and injured four others. The bomber detonated herself outside the FC fort as the convoy was moving to the security forces’ mess in Kalat.
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has used female fighters for suicide attacks against Pakistani security forces and Chinese nationals in recent years. In 2022, Shari Baloch, a female suicide bomber linked to the BLA, carried out an attack in Karachi, killing three Chinese nationals and a Pakistani.
