KARACHI: K-Electric has advised the people of the Sindh capital to follow precautionary measures in view of the threat of the Biporjoy cyclone.
In a message released on social media, the spokesperson of K Electric Imran Rana informed the citizens about the precautionary measures. He said that the citizens should take precautionary measures during the rainy season to avoid any untoward incident.
Imran Rana said that under the effects of the cyclone, light and medium rains continued intermittently in Karachi today. In this situation, the power supply system of K Electric has also been stable, the Spokesman’s Electric said.
K Electric has informed regarding precautionary measures that citizens should keep their phones and devices charged to prepare for the storm. Keep your vehicles and generators fueled, medicines, drinking water, and dry items organized. It has also been directed to keep electrical appliances above the ground.
In case of a storm, it is advised to stay at home, while it is also prohibited to touch wet electrical appliances. An appeal has also been made to stay away from fallen poles and wires due to the storm.
Instructions have also been given by K Electric to deal with the post-storm situation. According to K Electric, it has been asked to remove standing water and keep manhole covers closed before switching on.
