KARACHI: A motorcyclist was killed while another was wounded in an accident on Main Shahrah-e-Faisal early on Monday morning.
The accident occurred near Drigh Road when a speeding car went out of the driver’s control and rolled multiple times before crossing over to the other side and hitting motorcyclists.
On November 14, two people were killed and five others were injured when a Karachi-bound wagon had a head-on collisison in Nawabshah.
The wagon from Saddiqabad collided with a speeding truck on the National Highway at Nawab Wali Muhammad near Qazi Ahmed in district Nawabshah, in which two people, identified as the driver of the wagon, Juma Khan Pathan, and a passenger Shahid Hameed, both residents of Tarbela, were killed.
Five others, including Rashida, Kamran, Anjum, Muhammad Saddiq and a five-year-old boy Shawal, were injured. The police and ambulance services shifted the injured to the Qazi Ahmed Hospital.
Earlier on October 29, rescue officials said a motorcyclist was killed on the spot while another was wounded. A police team reached the site of the crash and took the driver of the car into custody.
Two people were killed in as many road accidents. According to the Steel Town police, 27-year-old Latif, son of Haji Muhammad, died when a speedy dumper hit him in Gulshan-e-Hadeed.
Rescuers transported the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy. The police said the driver responsible for the accident managed to escape while the police impounded the dumper.
Separately, an unidentified man died after being hit by a speedy car on the Northern Bypass. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.The body and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
