Ali Abbas Zafar is reportedly making a French thriller Nuit Blanche or Sleepless Night (translated in English) starring Shahid Kapoor.
While the film is based on a father trying to save his kidnapped child from the mafia, the makers were on the lookout for a popular Bollywood actress opposite Shahid Kapoor. A source informed Indian news outlet, “Bhumi Pednekar was approached for the role. The makers felt she will fit the bill as Shahid’s wife and although the film primarily traces one day in Shahid’s life, Bhumi’s role is extremely important and pivotal. The makers had offered the film to Bhumi a few weeks ago.”
However, there are reports that Pednekar has declined to play the part. The same source share that she feels there is meat lacking on her part and that’s why she decided to say no to it. After her rejection, the makers are now on the hunt for another heroine to play the lead opposite Shahid.
Moreover, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s much-anticipated post-Family Man series for Amazon Prime Video starring Shahid Kapoor has a new title named ‘Fakes’. According to a source, this is the same story that Raj and DK earlier wanted to make with the title Farzi.
Raj and DK wanted to make it in 2014 with Shahid Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. While Shahid still remains in Fakes(nee Farzi), Nawaz’s role is now being done by the formidable Vijay Sethupathi.
