Beenish Fatima has taken charge as Rawalpindi’s first female Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), where she was greeted with a salute upon her arrival at the Traffic Headquarters.
According to details, Beenish Fatima comes from a family with a history in the police profession. On the occasion of her arrival, she was presented with a bouquet of fragrant flowers by a Lady Traffic Assistant who also gave her a salute.
During this event, Rawalpindi’s first female CTO met with DSPs and branch in-charges and inspected the facilities provided to the citizens of Rawalpindi at the headquarters. She also toured all the branches of the Traffic Headquarters.
Beenish Fatima, who is the daughter-in-law of a former IG of Punjab Police, holds the distinction of being the third woman in the province of Punjab to serve as a CTO. Currently, Ayesha Butt serves as the CTO in Gujranwala, while Amara Azhar holds the same position in Lahore.
Beenish Fatima assumed her role as CTO in Rawalpindi after the resignation of former CTO Taimur Khan, who had been serving since November 18, 2022. She took on this position after the establishment of the City Traffic Police in Rawalpindi in 2007, becoming the first woman to do so.
In the past, Beenish Fatima served as an ASP in Islamabad Police. In an interview, she rejected the culture of favoritism, stating that the situation in Pakistan has changed, and no one will undermine your progress.
She added that it’s not just the police, but many professions where women are serving, and every profession is important. It’s not necessary to be a topper academically; being a good student is sufficient to advance in your career.
