Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on the first trading day of the week on Monday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index dropped 379.78 points, closing at 138,217.58 points against 138,597.36 points in the previous session.
The stock market opened in the green and continued bullish trend to reach 139,201.15 point, however due to the selling pressure it could not maintained the gains and fell in the red. The negative change of the market recorded at 0.27%.
A total of 220,882,975 shares were traded during the day, as compared to 609,443,979 shares the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 15. 034 billion against Rs 31.624 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 479 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 193 of them recorded gains and 245 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 41 companies remained unchanged.
The benchmark KSE-100 shed 68.14 points on Friday, showing a negative change of 0.05 percent, closing at 138,597.36 points against 138,665.50 points last trading day.
