QUETTA: Balochistan government’s authorities have extended the lockdown in the province till May 19 in wake of the prevailing coronavirus outbreak situation in the province.
According to a notification issued by the provincial home department on Monday, the citizens have been asked to cooperate with the police and law enforcers to limit the spread of the COVID-19.
The lockdown will include the major shopping malls, restaurants, and markets. The supply of household goods will continue, while intra-province and intercity buses will also remain closed for 14 days.
While, shops and industries have been allowed to resume operations in the province. The provincial authorities made it mandatory to fallow the SOPs issued by the government to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan have reached 21,452 after more cases emerged in the country.
According to the National Command and Control Centre, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 458.
The confirmed cases in Punjab stand at 7,646 making it the worst-hit province in the country with 136 deaths followed by Sindh, 8,103 (137 deaths), Kyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3,288 (185 deaths), Gilgit Baltistan, 372 (3 deaths), Balochistan 1,321 (21 death), Islamabad 415 (4 deaths) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 71cases.
