LONDON: The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) which was postponed earlier this month will now be held in July.
Originally scheduled for spring 2020, the award show was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The BAFTA awards will now be streamed online on 31st July. Moreover, the nominations will be announced next week on 4th June.
The British Academy Television Awards will be hosted by Stephen Mangan this year. The ceremony will air as-live on BBC One.
The BAFTA awards is a world-leading independent arts charity that brings the very best work in film, games, and television to public attention and supports the growth of creative talent in the UK and internationally.
However, many of this year’s major film and TV awards have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Attempts to curb the spread of the coronavirus have resulted in productions being shut down, which has caused a negative effect in the award shows including Oscars all the way into 2022.
The coronavirus outbreak has disrupted entertainment events in Hollywood and around the world.
