Pakistan Railways has announced that the Rehman Baba Express from Peshawar will arrive 6 hours late, and the Awami Express will reach Karachi after an 8-hour delay. Additionally, Sukkur Express traveling from Karachi to Sukkur will be delayed by 9 hours.
On the other hand, motorways, and flights are severely affected as visibility in Punjab and Sindh has been drastically reduced due to smog and fog, resulting in a tragic accident in which one person died and six others were injured.
A report by Geo News on Sunday states, “Due to the dense fog and smog, several sections of the motorways have been closed for traffic.” Additionally, another report by Aaj News highlights the severity of the situation, emphasizing the significant disruptions to flight schedules caused by the weather conditions.
According to the Motorway Police spokesperson, the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway is closed due to fog and smog. The M-2 motorway from Lahore to Kot Momin, M-3 from Lahore to Dera Khana, and M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem are also closed due to weather conditions. Additionally, the M-5 motorway from Multan to Sukkur has been shut down.
