ISLAMABAD: Azerbaijan has reportedly been showing interest in buying Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder Jets.
According to the military attaché of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Pakistan, Colonel Mehman Novruzov has said, “Azerbaijan’s acquisition of JF-17 Thunder jets from Pakistan is a key issue on the bilateral agenda in the field of military cooperation.”

Mehman Novruzov further mentions that his country wants to buy state-of-the-art Block 3 JF-17 Thunder aircraft from Pakistan. As Azerbaijan forces are upgrading their military equipment they have signed agreements with various Asian countries for the revolution of their air force.
Moreover, the upgraded Block 3 variant has updated cockpit electronics and radar systems, compared with the preceding planes of the JF-17. Meanwhile, earlier local Azeri media sources also claim that both states have reached an agreement to buy the JF-17 however a contract has not been signed to date.
