ISLAMABAD: A local court on Wednesday rejected bail plea of PTI Senator Azam Swati in a case related to his controversial tweets.
Special Judge Central Azam Khan, who conducted the hearing today, declared that the content of Azam Khan Swati’s tweet was ‘offence’, and the accused committed the offence twice, hence rejected the bail plea.

During the course of proceedings today, prosecutor Rizwan Abbais narrated before the court as to how a Twitter account was verified, saying Swati had a Blue tick on his Twitter account and was followed by numerous famous figures including newsmen and politicians.
The prosecutor maintained that Azam Swati never disowned his Twitter account and (by way of his controversial tweet) he tried to develop a narrative against armed forces. prosecutor Rizwan Abbais prayed the court to reject Swati’s bail plea.

On this, the defense counsel Sohail Khan Swati said the entire case against his client Azam Swati was build up on the basis of mere screen shots.
