QAMBAR: Senator Azam Swati of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) produced before duty Judicial Magistrate here on Sunday after which he was remanded in police custody for three days.

MM News has learnt that the elderly Senator was in the custody of CIA Qambar for two days on transit remand, after which he was produced before the Judicial Magistrate on duty today.
According to Sohail Khan Advocate, during the proceeding today, Police demanded his physical remand while his lawyers opposed it. The Magistrate, however, granted three days of physical remand of Swati.

Swati, it may be recalled, was taken into custody by Sindh Police in Quetta on December 9 when Balochistan High Court quashed all FIRs registered against him across the province for his controversial statement.

Since then, the 74 year old Azam Swati had been missing from the scene after which PTI leaders alleged that he had been shifted to Sindh’s Larkana/Qambar on CM Sindh’s plane, an allegation denied by provincial minister Sharjeel Memon.
PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry had alleged that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s plane flew to Quetta to pick up Azam Swati, and the senator was arrested on the same charges the Balochistan High Court had quashed a day before.

Just two days back, the Sindh High Court ordered provincial government and the IGP to submit report about number of cases registered against Swati across the province.
