Quetta: Baluchistan tan Judicial Academy (BJA) on Sunday rejected a statement issued by Supreme Court about the stay of Senator Azam Swati in the Academy premises during his Quetta visit.
In a statement the BJA said that it was not possible for Azam Swati to stay in the academy as there is no accommodation facility.
“The report of the Special Branch has been mentioned in the press release of the Supreme Court, so it is important to clarify that since September 2019, the Baluchistan Judicial Academy is working in an old building for educational purposes only, and has neither accommodation facility nor any rest house under its management”, the statement said.
The statement added that before September 2019, the Judicial Academy was functioning in two rooms and a small hall in the Law College of Baluchistan University. “The report presented by Special Branch Baluchistan is contrary to facts and baseless.”
It should be noted that earlier on Sunday, in a statement issued by the Supreme Court, it was said that Senator Azam Swati mentioned in his press conference that his video was made during his stay at the Judges Rest House of the Supreme Court, Quetta, however, according to the report of Special Branch Baluchistan during his visit, he did not stay at the judges’ rest house but at the rest house of the Baluchistan Judicial Academy. “Judges Rest House is managed by Registrar Supreme Court Islamabad and only serving and retired judges are allowed to stay in it”, the press released had stated.
