ISLAMABAD: The 74 year old PTI Senator Azam Swati failed to get relief from the Islamabad high court (IHC) on Monday as the hearing of his bail plea was adjourned till January 2.
Chief justice Aamer Farooq heard the post-arrest bail petition filed by PTI senator Azam Swati, which stated that the PTI leader did not post any derogatory remarks against the state institutions. Justice Aamer Farooq issued notice to the Federal Government and adjourned the hearing until next Monday.
The applicant made the federation and FIA cybercrime wing respondents in the petition.
This came within days when an Islamabad court rejected the bail plea of Senator Azam Swati in the case of the controversial tweet.

The Islamabad court remarked that the PTI leader committed the “same offence” twice.
Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi explained to the court that Swati has a “blue tick” on his Twitter account and is followed by notable personalities.
It may be recalled here that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Senator Azam Swati on November 27, in a case related to controversial tweets against the former Army Chief Gen Bajwa.
