KARACHI: At least 61 restaurants and four marriage halls have been sealed in Karachi for violation of COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
According to details, the provincial authorities have sealed two marriage halls located in Korangi district and another two in East district for violating SOPs.
The authorities informed that almost 177 restaurants were inspected in 6 districts, 76 restaurants were found violating SOPs. “15 restaurants were warned and 61 were sealed,” they added.
Earlier today (Thursday), the Sindh government imposed a ‘micro smart lockdown’ in certain COVID-19 hotspots in Karachi for two weeks.
According to a handout issued by the provincial government, the ‘micro smart lockdown’ was imposed in 48 localities of Karachi’s district central.
Micro smart lockdown was imposed in 21 localities of North Nazimabad, 12 localities of Gulberg Town, nine localities of Liaquatabad Town and four areas of North Karachi for two weeks.
