The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad has started removing banners supporting Gaza ahead of Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) upcoming protest against the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza. The protest, set for April 20, aims to denounce Israeli aggression in Palestine.
A video circulating on social media shows CDA workers dismantling the banners from poles and loading them onto a truck. A bystander, witnessing the removal, began filming and questioned the workers about the authority behind their actions. One of the workers in the video stated that they were acting under orders from the CDA.
In addition to the protest, Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a nationwide strike on April 22 to show solidarity with Palestinians. Hafiz Naeem emphasized that there is no ambiguity regarding the strike, firmly stating, “We will proceed with it.”

Speaking strongly against Israel and the United States, Hafiz Naeem said people around the world are filled with hatred against both for their actions. “Israel is killing innocent children with bullets. The global outrage is real,” he said.
He also criticized US foreign policy, calling it a promoter of violence. “America has once again proved itself a terrorist state, the country that bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.”
