ISLAMABAD: Australia has appreciated Pakistan’s initiative for opening the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh pilgrims during the 6th Pakistan-Australia Bilateral Political Consultations.
Australian Deputy Secretary Foreign Affairs Department Richard Maude has called on Pakistan’s Additional Secretary Asia Pacific Zahoor Ahmed in Islamabad praised the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the bilateral relations, including political, economic, trade and investment.

The Indian aggressive posturing after its illegal and unilateral actions to change the internationally recognized disputed status of occupied Kashmir was also discussed in the meeting.
Maudeside also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in the Afghan peace process.

Amid Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States have also appreciated the opening of Kartarpur Corridor.
The 7th round of Pakistan-Australia Bilateral Political Consultations will be held in Canberra on mutually agreed dates.
