Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has pledged that the forthcoming budget will offer relief to the salaried class, highlighting the necessity of alleviating their tax obligations.
During his address at the Pakistan Banking Summit 2025, he underscored the importance of the government developing effective policies to stimulate economic activity within the private sector.
Aurangzeb pointed out the critical need for privatisation and reforms within the financial system, noting that enhanced border security measures have successfully curtailed smuggling, resulting in no illicit sugar exports to Afghanistan for the first time.
The inaugural Pakistan Banking Summit 2025, hosted by the Pakistan Banks Association, featured participation from the finance minister, presidents of various banks, and international representatives.
In his remarks at the summit, Aurangzeb acknowledged the significant advancements made by emerging markets over the past quarter-century, urging Pakistan to fully exploit its available resources.
He emphasized that the majority of finance ministers worldwide prioritize production growth and called for the government to implement policies that support the flourishing of private enterprises.
Additionally, he reiterated the necessity to expedite privatisation and enhancements to the financial system.
