A passenger bus traveling from Rawalakot to Rawalpindi fell into a deep ravine near Pana Pul, Azaad Pattan, leading to the deaths of 30 people, officials reported on Sunday.
The bus, carrying 30 passengers from Haveli Kahuta to Rawalpindi, met with the accident near Pana Bridge.
Rescue teams promptly transported the bodies and the injured to a nearby hospital, where efforts to treat the injured and identify the deceased are ongoing. Sardar Abdul Waheed, Commissioner of Poonch Division, confirmed that the incident occurred near Pana Pul, situated between Azaad Pattan and Kahuta.
Upon receiving the news, rescue teams were dispatched from Rawalakot and Sadhanoti. Deputy Commissioner Sadhanoti, Umar Farooq, stated that the victims included children, women, and men, all from the Sadhanoti district.
In a separate incident earlier today, a bus carrying pilgrims from Iran also plunged into a ravine on the Makran Coastal Highway near Buzi Luk, resulting in 12 fatalities.
