QUETTA: At least three people were killed and over 20 including Frontier Corps personnel were injured in a blast in district Sibbi of Balochistan.
The explosion occurred on Jail Road in Tandi Sarak area near the Sibbi Mela. The injured were brought to Civil Hospital for medical treatment, while five of them were in critical condition and were been shifted to Quetta. The injured include three motorcycle riders as well.
FC personnel arrived at the scene soon after the incident, cordoned off the area and have started a search operation. According to the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), it was a remote-controlled blast and the explosive was fitted in a motorcycle that was parked in the area.
The explosion took place 15 minutes after the convoy of President Arif Alvi passed from Jail Road after addressing the closing ceremony of the historic Sibbi Mela,
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo strongly condemned the blast and directed authorities to provide the best possible medical treatment to those injured in the explosion.
