ISLAMABAD: Assistant Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Farrukh Shahzad Dall Advocate has resigned from his post following the no-confidence motion against the prime minister.
The lawyer has submitted his resignation to the president, thanking him for the profession growth for appointing him for the office.
“I consider it a sin to defend the policies and laws of a corrupt government formed with the help of American imperialism,” he said. Farrukh Dal said he stand with a honest and great leader Imran Khan in shaping the new Pakistan.
The development comes after Attorney-General of Pakistan (AGP) Khalid Javed Khan stepped down from the post late Saturday night after serving for more than two years.
“I have been serving the post of Attorney General of Pakistan since February, 2020. For this honor and privilege, I remain profoundly grateful to Prime Minister Imran Khan,” Khalid Javed said while tendering his resignation.
A letter sent by him to the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi stated, “I have tried to serve the country to the best of my ability and conscience and I now deem it appropriate to tender my resignation.”
The Opposition ousted Imran Khan from the post of prime minister through a successful no-confidence motion, making him the first prime minister of Pakistan to be removed by this method. As many as 174 members of the National Assembly voted against Imran, deciding his fate in a late-night session of parliament on Sunday morning.
