Singer Asim Azhar, who has just gotten engaged with model turned actress Merub Ali, has clarified fans about his old post in which he had called Merub his sister.
As we all know both are family friends and have been the centre of attention since last year for having a rumoured relationship. Now last night when the singer announced his engagement, social media users started spreading an old screenshot of Asim Azhar in which he called Merub Ali like his sister.
Now, the Ghalat Fehmi singer took to Twitter and requested all to cheer and be happy in his happiness. “To all reposting a screenshot of a “news channel” that said I had labelled Merub as my sister bec of a fake chat a fan had made, I clarified it a year ago. reminder since this is a beautiful moment of my life that I want to cherish. Doosre ki khushi mai khush hona chahiye.,” the singer tweeted.

The singer has now addressed fans and said the screenshot is fake which he already addressed in past. In another tweet, he wrote that it was important to address the issue as the narrative was ‘disgusting’, according to Azhar.

Last night, the couple posted identical announcements on Instagram, “With the grace of Allah Almighty and our parent’s duas, we announce our Imam Zamin – engagement. May Allah SWT and Ahlebait (as) keep us protected and this happy forever, Aameen. Keep us in your prayers,” it said.
