ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning Asad Umar has warned that the government will have to take sanctions if SOPs for the prevention of coronavirus is not followed.
Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar in a statement issued on coronavirus said that the rate of positive cases of the virus is high in Muzaffarabad and Karachi while the rate of the number of cases is also increasing in Lahore and Islamabad.
“If the SOPs are not complied with, we will have to tighten sanctions, which will have a negative impact on people’s lives,” he said. Asad Umar said that the number of positive cases of the coronavirus at the national level was 2.37 percent yesterday and this number is the highest in the last 50 days.
He said that the last time this trend of coronavirus positive cases was observed was on 23rd August, while 11 deaths were being reported daily from the virus in the first four days of this week and this death rate was the highest since 10th August.

In the last 24 hours, 755 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan and the total number of infected people has reached 321,218.
According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 13 more people were killed and the death toll from coronavirus rose to 6,614 in 24 hours.
