KARACHI: The fire at Ayesha Manzil shopping mall has been brought under control, however, due to the terrible blaze, four people died while 1 was injured.
According to the details, a fire engulfed the building located near Ayesha Manzil in the FB area of Karachi yesterday, while there are shops on 2 floors of the building and residential flats on 4 upper floorsa.
More than 100 people were rescued during the shopping mall fire. Pakistan Navy and Fire Brigade brought the fire under control with joint efforts. Officials say it was a third-degree fire that has been extinguished.
The Sindh Building Control Authority has sealed the fire-affected building. As a result of the terrible fire, the building located near Ayesha Manzil was completely burnt and turned into a pile of ashes. 10 motorcycles and several vehicles were also burnt.
Caretaker Chief Minister Maqbool Baqer expressed anger over the delayed arrival of the fire brigade. Apart from Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab and caretaker Chief Minister Ahmed Shah, other officials also reached Ayesha Manzil and reviewed the rescue operations.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, taking notice of the late arrival of the fire brigade during the Ayesha Manzil shopping mall fire, has set up a committee under the supervision of Commissioner Karachi to investigate the delay.
