ISLAMABAD: The General Headquarters of Pakistan Army (GHQ) has a written a letter to the federal government, seeking to form an inquiry commission to investigate into the killing of prominent Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif.
According to details made available to MM News, the GHQ has also asked the federal government to take action against elements involved in leveling baseless allegations [against armed forces].
In its letter, the GHQ demanded “an action should be taken in the light of the Constitution against those involved in blaming the institution.”
The move by the GHQ came minutes after federal minister for information and broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had ordered to form a judicial commission, led by a High Court judge, to investigate into the murder of Arshad Sharif.
