ISLAMABAD: The mother of prominent journalist and TV host Arshad Sharif rejected the inquiry commission, formed by the federal government to investigate into the murder of her son, saying there should be no politics over his murder.
In a statement, Arshad Sharif’s mother said that the formation of the inquiry commission contradicted the statement of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The government, it may be recalled, had announced to constitute a full and empowered judicial commission which would be headed by a High Court judge.

The mother of Arshad Sharif said demanded that the members of the United Nations Human Rights Organization should be included in the judicial commission to find out facts into the unjust killing of her son. She said the government should form such a commission on which the journalist community and her family could trust.
She said her entire family was suffering from grief and sorrow after the gruesome assassination of Arshad Sharif. “Instead of adding to our suffering, justice should be ensured,” she said.
The federal government, it may be added here, had announced yesterday to form 3-members commission to probe into the murder of prominent journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya. The commission would be formed under Pakistan Commission of Inquiry Act 2017, and would be headed by Justice (R) Abdul Shakoor Paracha, contrary to earlier claims of a High Court judge being its head.
