The daughter of renowned slain anchorperson Arshad Sharif has followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the profession of journalism.
Aleeza Arshad, the daughter of the noted anchorperson, made her first appearance on TV as a reporter. She was seen reporting from a mango festival in Islamabad for ARY News, where her father was also last employed.
Aleeza decided to choice the field of journalism as she was inspired from her father’s passion for investigative reporter.
Her decision to choose journalism as a profession has been welcome by admirers and colleagues by her father.
PTI leader Shahbaz Gill also shared a video of Aleeza and presided her from choosing the profession.
“Well done, child. Made me happy. Work hard. There is still a long way to go. Your father was a great man. Inshallah you will him proud one day,” Gill said.

Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya on 23 October 2022 under mysterious circumstances. The Kenyan police described the shooting as a case of “mistaken identity” and there was speculation on social media that he had been assassinated.
The government formed a two-member investigation to investigate the circumstanced leading to the killing. The team visited UAE and Kenya to probe the killing of the journalist.
In December 2022, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial took suo moto notice of the killing. The case is ongoing in the apex court amid reports that Kenyan authorities have refused to cooperate in the investigation
