NAIROBI: The body of prominent journalist Arshad Sharif reached Nairobi airport late last night, and is expected to arrive at Islamabad airport tonight night at around 1 am Via Doha. The plane carrying the mortal remains of Pakistani TV anchor journalist Arshad Sharif left Nairobi at 1:25 am on Tuesday.

The mortal remains of journalist Arshad Sharif, who was killed by Kenyan police on Sunday, will be flown to Pakistan today, family and government officials confirmed.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had ordered ministries of Foreign and Interior to take steps for immediate repatriation of Arshad Sharif’s body. His directives came hours after the Islamabad High Court passed similar orders to the said ministries.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Kenya Saqlain Syeda was at the Nairobi airport overseeing arrangements for Sharif’s final journey home.
