RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has presided over a Corps Commanders Conference at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in the backdrop of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the forum positively noted the increasing realization at international forums about worsening humanitarian and security crises in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The Army Chief said: “We will stay the course InshaAllah (by the will of Almighty Allah),” the military’s wing said. The forum reviewed a comprehensive regional and domestic security environment with a special focus on the situation along the borders, internal security and other professional matters of the Army.
In the backdrop of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the forum positively noted the increasing realization at international levels about worsening humanitarian and security crises in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).
The forum also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support to resilient Kashmiri people for their just struggle for the right to self-determination in accordance with relevant UNSC resolutions.
The forum also reviewed improving the security situation in FATA. The military leadership said that early implementation of reforms in the merged districts in the need of the hour.
The Corps Commanders Conference also reviewed the Afghan peace process and said that there must be peace and stability in Afghanistan for regional peace, the ISPR said.
The forum also expressed complete satisfaction over countering hostile intelligence agencies design to disrupt peace and progress particularly in Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan which lay exposed to the entire world thus vindicating Pakistan s stance on the role of hostile agencies in training & funding terrorists.
Gen Bajwa said dividends of improved security situation including the return of international cricket in the country as a result of numerous sacrifices rendered and challenges overcame to eliminate extremism and terrorism from Pakistan.
