KARACHI: Armed men stormed a house and abducted a 14-year-old Christian girl while police have refused to register a case against the incident.
The incident took place in Ghaghar Phatak area along the Super Highway where armed men attacked a house and abducted a teenage girl Shama. The minor girl’s parents lodged a complaint but Steel Town police have refused to register a case on their appeal.
The parents of the minor girl say that they shifted from Tando Bago over ten years ago due to poverty and their daughter use to work in a pharmaceutical factory. The parents had stopped her from going to the factory after they received complaints that she was being harassed by security guards. They claimed that guard Ikhtiar Mallah along with his three companions forcibly entered their house and abducted the girl.
The girl’s father Babu, who works as a labourer, and mother Shanti said police were not even registering a case of kidnapping. Her father said gunmen kidnapped their daughter by holding the women in their house hostage.
When journalists reached their residence, the family was in mourning and while the parents were inconsolable at the abduction of their daughter. They decried the injustice and said that they are poor people who moved here due to poverty.
While speaking to media, the parents said that the security guard along with three armed accomplices abducted the girl. Her father appealed to the Sindh Chief Minister, Inspector-General Police Sindh, DG Rangers and SSP Malir for action and help to recover the missing daughter.
