In the provincial capital of Quetta, Balochistan, 10 individuals, including a customs officer, were kidnapped from a picnic spot after their identification cards were checked.
According to details, the kidnapping incident took place at the tourist spot Shaban, adjacent to the suburban area of Zarghoon in Quetta. A large number of armed individuals surrounded the picnic point and checked the identification cards of the people there for recreation.
The armed individuals took 14 people into custody but released four, taking 10 individuals with them. Among the abductees were a customs officer and residents of Punjab. Authorities have not yet provided any further details regarding this incident.
It is worth noting that last year, armed individuals also abducted people from Punjab after checking their identification cards from the same area of Zarghoon. This incident of kidnapping 10 individuals, including a customs officer, after checking their identification cards, is a matter of concern for the residents of Punjab.
The Issue of Provincial Hatred:
The problem of provincial animosity is not new in Pakistan, India, or other parts of the world. Incidents that explicitly target individuals from a specific province or region can lead to widespread unrest and violence. Such acts of aggression, motivated by regional bias, have the potential to escalate into large-scale conflicts and bloodshed.
In the broader context, the persistence of such incidents highlights the need for a concerted effort to address provincial biases and promote unity. It is essential for the authorities to not only bring the perpetrators to justice but also to implement measures that foster harmony and understanding among different provincial communities. Ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, regardless of their provincial background, is crucial for maintaining national cohesion and preventing further acts of violence driven by regional animosity.
