RAWALPINDI: Armed Forces of Pakistan have paid glowing tribute to Captain Karnal Sher Khan on the 24th anniversary of his martyrdom being observed on Wednesday across the nation.
in a statement, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the armed forces of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and service chiefs have paid glowing tribute to Captain Karnal Sher Khan .
“His stellar leadership and courage beckons us to defend Pakistan at all cost,” the military press wing said regarding the martyr of the Kargil War.
It said the war hero “wrote history with his blood displaying utmost valour, commitment & unwavering allegiance to defend the country against all odds.”
It added that Captain Karnal Sher Khan’s martyrdom anniversary serves as a powerful reminder of the extraordinary sacrifices made by the Armed Forces of Pakistan to defend the motherland.
The army called for remembering these heroes who have laid down their lives in defence of the motherland. “The nation is proud of its gallant sons,” it said.
The 24th martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan is being observed to pay tribute to the brave soldier.
Karnal Sher Khan was born on 1 January 1970, in Naway Kiley, a village in Swabi District of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
He joined the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, in November 1992 and graduated in the 90th Long Course in 1994. His first posting was at Okara in 27th Sindh Regiment.
During the Kargil conflict on the Line of Control in 1999, he emerged as the symbol of mettle and courage and inflicted heavy losses on the Indian forces while defending the five strategic posts at the height of 17,000 feet in Gultray.
He was martyred in 1999 gallantly defending the motherland and was decorated with country`s highest gallantry award, Nishan-e-Haider.
