With the rise of modern communication tools, criminals and terrorists have discovered new ways to connect. It was recently revealed that terrorists are using the popular online game PUBG to communicate and coordinate attacks in Pakistan.
Dr. Zahid, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Swat, reported that three detained terrorists were found chatting through PUBG. The attackers used magnet IDs to organize their activities and created chat groups within the game to share information.
This marks the first time that PUBG has been linked to terrorist activities. Dr. Zahid said that after previously using Telegram for communication, terrorists have now shifted to gaming platforms for their operations.
Last year, the Indian government blocked 14 messaging apps that were being used by terrorists to exchange information. Among the blocked apps were Crypviser, Enigma, Safeswiss, Wickrme, Mediafire, Briar, BChat, Nandbox, Conion, IMO, Element, Second Line, Zangi, and Threema.
