PESHAWAR: The whole nation is observing the fifth anniversary of Army Public School Peshawar tragedy today, to pay tribute to the martyrs of the sad incident of the country.
Five years back on this day in 2014, terrorists entered the school and brutally martyred over 147 children and teachers in Peshawar.
Right after the attack, Pakistan’s civil and military leadership chalked out National Action Plan and started Operation Zarb-e-Azb against the militants in North Waziristan.
Today on December 16, the whole nation is mourning over the tragic incident of the APS Peshawar attack across Pakistan.
Meanwhile, celebrities, politicians and whole Pakistan paid tribute to the martyrs of APS tragedy.
President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have expressed their condolences to the martyrs and their families.
President Dr. Arif Alvi wrote on Twitter, ” The nation cannot forget the massacre of little angels/teachers of APS 5 years ago on this day.”

In a message, Prime Minister Imran Khan also strongly condemned the APS attack and said “deepest sympathies from me to all those affected by the tragic event in Peshawar.”
Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar javed Bajwa also came out to express his condolences over the tragic and sad incident of the APS Peshawar massacres.
Furthermore, The DG ISPR Major Asif Ghafoor in his tweet on Monday told, that five terrorists who were involved in APS attack have been hanged through military courts.
Major General Asif Ghafoor On behalf of COAS released a statement on Twitter in which he tweeted, “APS carnage will never be forgotten.”
“Five of the involved terrorists have been hanged through military courts. Salute to martyrs and their families. We have come a long way in failing terrorism as a nation.”

Similarly, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser also has expressed his condolence to the martyrs and their families of APS victims.
He wrote on Twitter, ” The tragedy of 16th December 2014 is neither forgotten nor forgiven.”

Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shiren Mazari has also expressed her condolence over APS Peshawar tragedy.
In a tweet, she said, “A day that can never be forgotten – A tragedy so intense it shook the nation to its core – the APS terror attack that took away the lives of so many innocent children along with their teachers.

Similarly, Pakistan’s globally famous actress Mahira Khan has expressed her condolence over the sad incident and showed her sympathies to the victims and their families.
In her recent tweet, she said, ” Will not.. can not, ever forget. May this world never have to see a tragedy as big as this.”
