KARACHI: All Pakistan Restaurant Association (APRA) has urged the government to allow dining as per usual routine in restaurants, at full capacity with indoor seating across the country.
APRA in a statement said that the SOPs in all restaurants were being strictly implemented. “Even those who come to eat, including restaurant workers, are advised to implement SOPs. However, banning indoor dining is tantamount to deliberately ruining the industry,” APRA said.
The Association said that the government had permitted the majority of economic sectors to resume normal business activities, however, the restaurant industry was being ignored, raising serious concerns among restaurant owners.
Earlier, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has urged the government to allow dining as coronavirus cases are declining in the country.
FPCCI Vice President and All Pakistan Restaurant Association (APRA) Convener Athar Sultan Chawla said that the authorities should stop discrimination and permit the restaurant industry to function as usual to stop it from a catastrophe.
Chawla emphasized that millions of jobs were dependent on the restaurant business being allowed to function at the normal level.
