Anti-polio drive: Female health worker injured in Larkana attack

 LARKANA: A female health worker was injured in an attack during performing a duty to administer polio drops to children in Larkana on Tuesday.

According to sources, the female worker identified as Razia Khokhar was on routine duty during the polio campaign in Resham Gali meanwhile an unidentified man hit her with a brick. As a result, he suffered severe injuries.

 Soon after the incident, she was shifted to Chandka Medical College Hospital for medical attention. hen contact to doctors at the hospital her condition was decelerated out of danger.

Yesterday, Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho inaugurated a new polio drive at the Larkana division.

WHO representative Dr Palitha Mahipala and EOC Coordinator Rehan Baloch, Asalif Demissie Team Lead WHO, Commissioner Larkana and Area Coordinator were accompanied by the Sindh health minister.
