The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall in various parts of the country next week. Beginning July 28, intermittent showers are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other regions.
The Meteorological Department staid that weak monsoon currents have already entered the upper parts of the country, which may intensify from July 28 onward.
A fresh western weather system is also expected to enter the upper regions of Pakistan, likely bringing intermittent rainfall to Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from July 27 to 31.
Rain is also forecast between July 28 and 31 in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Waziristan.
In Punjab, cities such as Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Sheikhupura may experience rainfall.
The department has also predicted rain in northeastern and southern parts of Balochistan from July 29 to 31. In Sindh, weather will remain hot and humid, though areas such as Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Jacobabad, and Larkana may receive rain.
The Meteorological Department has advised relevant authorities to take precautionary measures to mitigate risks of urban flooding and landslides.
