Hollywood superstar and former UNHCR ambassador Angelina Jolie has slammed Israel’s air campaign in war-torn Gaza as “the deliberate bombing of a trapped population” and “murder”, adding that the international community is complicit in “crimes” committed against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The Hollywood actress, who previously served as a special envoy to UNHCR, shared a photo on Instagram of a recent Israeli strike in the densely populated Strip and said “This is the deliberate bombing of a trapped population who has nowhere to flee.”

In the caption of her latest Instagram post, Angelina began by writing, “Gaza has been an open-air prison for nearly two decades and is fast becoming a mass grave. 40% of those killed are innocent children. Whole families are being murdered,” she said. “While the world watches and with the active support of many governments, millions of Palestinian civilians – children, women, families – are being collectively punished and dehumanized, all while being deprived food, medicine and humanitarian aid against international law,” she added.
She concluded by saying that world leaders are complicit in these crimes by refusing to demand a humanitarian ceasefire and blocking the UN Security Council.
Almost 9,000 people were killed while over 22,000 others were injured in Israeli bombardment on Gaza Strip since October 7.
The occupied enclave with a population of 2.3 million people also suffered from total blockade with food, water, medicine and fuel running out, while aid convoys allowed into Gaza so far have delivered only a fraction of what is needed. — Bernama-Wafa
