Sonakshi Sinha has revealed that an older male actor once rejected her as a co-star, claiming she appeared “older” than him, despite him being significantly older in reality.
According to a report by Indian Express on Wednesday, during a recent roundtable discussion, Sonakshi expressed her relief at not having worked with this actor, stating she has no desire to collaborate with individuals like him.

When discussing the pressures women face in the film industry, she noted, “It’s clear that the same expectations do not apply to men. They aren’t age-shamed when they date women 30 years younger, nor are they criticized for their appearances.” She emphasized that women often bear the brunt of these societal pressures.

Sonakshi added, “I’ve encountered older actors who have remarked, ‘She looks older than us.’ I appreciate their comments because I prefer not to work with such individuals. It’s always the woman who struggles to break through these barriers, while it should be as easy for her as it is for a man.” She passionately exclaimed, “Hey, I’m only 5-6 years younger than you!”

Recently, Sonakshi also responded to Mukesh Khanna, who criticized her father Shatrughan Sinha’s parenting after she struggled to answer a question about the Ramayana on Kaun Banega Crorepati. She addressed this in an Instagram story, acknowledging her momentary lapse but reminding Khanna of the importance of forgiveness, a lesson taught by Lord Ram.
