ISLAMABAD: Prominent TV host and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) lawmaker, Amir Liaquat Hussain, has now taken a new turn, saying that he will play a role as mediator between the government and the opposition to overcome the heat regarding the process of the no-trust motion.
In a tweet, the MNA said that tomorrow ( on Wednesday) he would meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and after that would meet the joint opposition leaders in order to overcome the heat regarding the process of a no-confidence motion against the prime minister tabled by the opposition. He added that he was hopeful everything would be fine soon.
Earlier, the lawmaker from Karachi had announced that he would remain neutral during voting on a no-trust move. On the basis of the announcement, he was thought to be included in the ruling party’s disgruntled MNAs.
According to media reports, PTI MNAs from Karachi on Monday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan, but 4 of them were absent and Amir Liaquat Hussain was none of them who remained absent. This further affirmed that he also defects to the opposition. But on Tuesday morning this new announcement regarding mediation come to the fore, which shocked those who were claiming that he is also a dissident of PTI.
