KARACHI: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi on Monday has visited Panahgah in Port Qasim and provided shelter and food during record-breaking cold weather in Karachi.
Taking to social media, the federal ministry for maritime affairs informed about Ali Zaaidi’s visit to the Panahgah, “Fed Min for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi visited Panahgah set up by Port Qasim Authority to provide shelter and food during record-breaking cold weather. He directed to expand it & make it a permanent facility. Before this truckers & laborers slept under trees & trucks.”

In response to a question, the federal ministry further informed on Twitter that the laborers have been given jobs in Port Qasim Authority so that they can full fill their domestic needs in this regard.

In a tweet, the federal ministry said, “Laborers and truckers are already employed. All they needed in this bone-chilling cold weather was a shelter to spend their night, which otherwise would have been an uncomfortable experience while sleeping under the trees and their trucks.”
