The City Court of Karachi on Monday declared former PTI leader Ali Zaidi as a proclaimed offender in the case of helping the PTI chief’s nephew Hassan Niazi escape during court appearance.
The court while ordering to display the sketches of Ali Zaidi also sought the details of the properties of Zaidi from the investigating officer.
On May 8, the police had registered a case against PTI leaders Ali Haider Zaidi, Haleem Adil Sheikh and other party workers on charges of rioting and criminal intimidation for “hooliganism” at city courts in Karachi.
The FIR quoted Gul as saying that when former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Niazi was presented before the court in Karachi, PTI leaders and workers had resorted to “hooliganism” and created hindrances in the way of official police work.
On the other hand, the same court also scheduled the indictment of PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh for December 9 in May 9 violence case.
On September 1, Haleem Adil Sheikh was rearrested in a separate case shortly after he obtained bail from an anti-terrorism court in Karachi.
Following the arrest, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi handed over PTI leader to police on three-day physical remand.
