The singer for the official anthem of PSL 10 has been revealed, and it’s none other than Ali Zafar, the man who has made a mark on the tournament’s music scene.
According to a report, the renowned singer Ali Zafar will lend his voice to create the magic for the anthem of the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League. The PSL administration took to its official social media accounts to share a poster for the Season 10 anthem, featuring Zafar in a veil, building excitement ahead of the event.
PSL 10 is set to kick off on April 11 and will take place across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, running through to May 18. However, the announcement has sparked controversy, especially among some of the franchise owners. Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Khan Tareen, expressed his dissatisfaction over the repeated selection of Zafar for the PSL anthem.
Taking to Instagram, Tareen wrote: “Pakistan has so many amazing artists. Yet almost half of our anthems have been given to the same middle-aged dude, despite franchises raising concerns about the artist. They talk about making this the biggest PSL ever, yet keep giving space to the same recycled voices…”
This will mark Zafar’s fifth time performing the PSL anthem, having previously sung ‘Ab Khel Ke Dikha’ (2016), ‘Ab Khel Jamay Ga’ (2017), and ‘Dil Se Jaan Laga De’ (2018). After a hiatus, Zafar returned with ‘Khul Ke Khel’ in 2024, despite some initial hurdles due to his court case with singer Meesha Shafi.
