Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday to focus on the province’s progress instead of making promises for others.
According to a report by ARY News, in an exclusive interview on Samaa TV’s “Do Tok With Kiran Naz,” Khan advised CM Maryam to address her own governance issues before criticizing others. Referring to media restrictions, he said, “PEMRA has clarified that there is no ban on mentioning PTI’s founder.”
Khan lauded Ayaz Sadiq’s positive role in ongoing negotiations and urged the government to avoid overburdening him. He also appreciated Rana Sanaullah’s constructive contributions but questioned certain inconsistencies, including whether the interior minister was acting independently of the prime minister.
Khan expressed frustration over repeated denials of his requests to meet PTI’s founder and pointed to a perceived divide within the ruling party, with one faction appearing cooperative while the other remained obstructive.
“Despite ongoing talks, meetings are not materializing, which highlights underlying issues,” he remarked, warning that the government’s lack of sincerity could backfire.
Highlighting past grievances, Khan mentioned that PTI ally Sahibzada Hamid Raza had conveyed the PTI founder’s readiness to forgive injustices but criticized the government for trivializing the assassination attempt on the former prime minister. He also ridiculed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for governing with only 17 seats in the assembly.
Khan emphasized the need for a judicial commission to investigate the events of November 26, stating that if the government had nothing to hide, it should initiate the probe immediately.
