Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has released an alarming data of fatal street crimes that occurred during the month of February 2025 in Karachi, media reported on Sunday.
As per the statistics, 34 people were killed, 195 people lost their cars, and 3773 motorcycles were stolen during February.
Around 1402 mobile phones were snatched from the citizens in different localities. The statistics revealed that one incident of kidnapping for ransom and four incidents of extortion were reported from different parts of the city.
It is pertinent to mention here that during the last year 1,503 citizens including women, children, and law enforcement officials lost their lives and properties due to street crimes in the port city.
Despite the police adopting the “half-fry” formula (arrest and shoot), robbers continued their activities undeterred, killing 106 people, including an army officer, a retired commando, police officials, engineers, security guards, and women. Around 300 others were also wounded by the robbers’ firing.
